    Newborn Tummy Time Mat

    Our Newborn Tummy Time Mat gives advanced support for your newborn baby during tummy time. It is designed to make tummy time more comfortable and enjoyable for your baby by supporting and contouring to the natural shape of your baby’s little body.

    Placing your baby on their tummy, while awake and supervised, is a great way of helping your baby develop strong neck and shoulder muscles, build motor skills, and reach early achievement milestones including rolling over, sitting up and crawling.

    Our Newborn Tummy Time Mat is made with ClevaFoam® and is scientifically proven to reduce pressure on the back of your baby’s head by 50% and to increase support by 80% (Trinity College, University of Dublin, Ireland). With its open cell structure it is 100% breathable, has significantly reduced heat retention and is remarkably lightweight. For your baby’s comfort and safety, it is hypoallergenic, pH balanced, toxin and formaldehyde free. Suitable for babies with asthma and allergies.

    After tummy time is over they can rest on their back while you rest in the knowledge that ClevaFoam® is helping to protect the round shape of your baby’s soft head and help prevent Flat Head Syndrome (Plagiocephaly).

    To prevent serious injury or death:
    ï To avoid possible entanglement or strangulation, do not add additional strings or straps to the product.
    ï Not intended for carrying baby.
    ï Pay special attention to warnings for safety, in order to prevent possible injury to your child.
    ï Avoid swaddling baby while using this product.
    ï Examine product frequently for damage, missing or loose parts. Do not use if product is damaged.
    ï Pay particular attention to the accompanying toys and inspect rigorously before each use. Disguard at the first sign of damage.
    ï Tummy Time should only take place when your child is fully awake and alert.

    FALL HAZARD:
    A childís movement can slide this product. NEVER place this product on countertops, tables or near steps or on other elevated surfaces.

    SUFFOCATION HAZARD:
    Remove all packaging from this item and dispose of carefully to avoid suffocation.

    IMPORTANT
    All foam products are packed for safety and transportation and require time when unpacked to return to original shape and size.
    Please remove the product from all packaging and allow to air for a period of 48 hours before use.
    Optimum room temperature for best performance should be 18?C.

    Tips and advice on Flat Head Syndrome (Plagiocephaly):

    It is medically advised that babies are placed on their back while they sleep as this is safest position for them. This position can create pressure on the back of their head and so Flat Head Syndrome may become an issue. Young babies when they rest can have a side which they prefer to rest on, this means that natural pressure can be put and focused on one side of their head.

    Here are some extra and simple ways to help manage this:
    Re-position your baby’s head while they are resting, so that sometimes they face left and sometimes they face right. So very gently switching the side they face are lying down.
    When your baby is ready, start practicing Tummy Time with them, this helps strengthen their shoulder and neck muscles for better control of their head.
